Privacy notice
The Martech Cookbook is published by Martech Therapy, which also runs Martech Stack Builder and the Martech Therapy newsletter. Martech Therapy is the controller for everything this notice describes. The cookbook applies GDPR-strict consent defaults in every region, because its readers work in privacy-sensitive marketing and expect the same of the tools they read about.
One account, two sites
Signing up creates a Martech Therapy account. The same email signs you in to martechcookbook.com and to Martech Stack Builder at app.martechstackbuilder.com. Each site keeps its own data. The cookbook holds your reading profile, bookmarks and feedback. Stack Builder holds nothing about you until you open it and sign in there, and from then on its privacy policy covers what it stores.
Reading without an account
Anonymous readers leave no persistent identifier unless they accept analytics in the consent banner. No marketing pixels and no behavioral advertising trackers run on the site.
When you sign up
Signup asks for a business email, and personal addresses (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and similar) are turned away. We store that email, the company domain derived from it, the role and primary use case you select, and a record of each consent you give. Aggregated by company, this shapes what we write next.
Analytics
The cookbook uses PostHog, hosted in the EU, and loads it only after you accept analytics in the banner. Until then nothing is sent and no analytics cookie is set. With consent, it records which recipes and patterns you read, the filters you use, the feedback you give and your return visits. When you are signed in, those events are linked to your account.
Newsletter
The marketing-email box at signup is unticked. Ticking it subscribes you to the Martech Therapy newsletter, sent through Ghost. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link.
Consent records
Each consent is stored with the version of this notice and the exact text you agreed to, so we can show what you were told at the time.
Who processes your data
Supabase stores the account and the cookbook's data. Postmark sends the sign-in codes. PostHog runs analytics, only with consent. Ghost sends the newsletter, only if you subscribed. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. The data requests page explains how, including what deletion means for an account that also opens Stack Builder.
